It is fantastic tonight here at the banquet hall. The settings, the music, the energy you all are generating,  the beautiful smiles on your faces, and everything here today tonight.

I would like to first acknowledge the hard work our Social Committee members have put into this amazing event.

You may or may not know that we do not have a budget for this masquerade gala (化装舞会), therefore, the committee members  had to work very hard to make it happen, they raised fund, they contributed not only their time, efforts, but also donated  money out of their own pockets.

One thing in particular, I would like to mention. If you look at the tables, you will notice that there is a wine bottle on each table,  and now if you take a close look at the wine bottles, you  will see that  the bottles are covered by drops of wax.  These wine bottles, total 20 of them, I would say, are twenty pieces of artwork. We did not purchase them, we spent 0 dollar on these items.  it was our Social Committee members who collected them and used their own time to wax it, one at a time. it took them at least 20 nights to do it all.

Wine bottles are just one of many aspects of tonight’s event. You can imagine that how much time they have spent, and how much effort they have contributed to it.

So for that, I am asking all Social Committee members, please stand up, and let  us give them a big applause. Thank you.

I now have no doubt at all that our Social Committee members are excellent event planners. You should put it into your resume in the future, because it is a valuable skill.

During workdays, you dress professionally, as you are dedicated public employees, but tonight, you look graceful, elegant, and exquisite. This indicates to me that you all are good at balancing work and life, you know how to create and enjoy beautiful moments.

I noticed that some of our alumni / former co-workers are among the audience, I am asking you, please stand up, let us welcome you.  For those of our former co-workers, please remember that once you are with us HSIO, you will be forever HSIO, so welcome.

Tonight is the night we all have been looking ward to, it is our masquerade gala. At this cheerful event, I am not talking about work, but let us have fun together.

In short, my message tonight is thank you, welcome, and enjoy.
